Think Security

The internet has been insecure for far too long. Google with the largest browser share is doing something about it. The question is how many people will listen. Based on the size of Google I would say that the Google Chrome Security team will achieve this much-needed additional security.

Starting in January 2017 Google Chrome (Chrome version 56 – Currently version 54 as of this writing) will start listing sites as insecure that do not use HTTPS for any forms that use passwords, accept credit cards, or that Google has programmed in as having confidential information.

Per the Google announcement they stated that they have conducted studies and that users do not perceive the lack of a green lock icon as a warning that a site is not secure. This process makes users vulnerable and open to phishing schemes. The Chrome Security Team used this information to write a plan for changing the browser to clearly display that HTTP sites do not provide data security.

Chrome 56 will be the first release that labels HTTP pages with password or credit card form fields as insecure. Google plans to extend the HTTP warnings to Incognito mode in following releases and will eventually add a prominent red triangle to the label on all HTTP pages.

Site owners who want to avoid having their HTTP sites labeled as not secure need to further investigate if their user's security is important to them. We believe it should be and why every website that we create has a Digicert TLS (SSL) certificate which is one of the highest rated security certificates on the internet.

Google for the past year has been rewarding companies that encrypt every page of their site by giving them a small boost within the search engine results pages (SERPs). This increase is very small but if your competitor and you are ranked the same and you have the SSL certificate you will rank above them if all other things are equal.

If security is important to your business and you want to work with a company that believes security belongs on every web page and not just a few the team at JM2 is ready to assist you. Whether you are on WordPress, Joomla, or other Content Management Systems (CMS) we can help you secure. Available Service Flyers

Our philosophy has always been honesty (this is our rule #1) and transparency in our services. There's no reason to hide costs unless you have something to hide. We've found that those who hide fees charge more successful businesses more money because they can. We do not feel this is the way America was meant to be. We believe in offering a fair price to everyone for the work that is done.

We also believe that once you sign on with us, you trust us, and as our thank you to you, we "price lock" our services for the plan(s) you signed up for at that time. This means while you are on those services, the price will always be the same. As business owners, we appreciate this as it allows us to budget our business expenses better.
