Being an Entrepreneur

As our second year is closely approaching and just a month away we are reflecting on everything that has happened. From the initial planting of our seed to form JM2 Webdesigners to present day. Being an entrepreneur has been quite different than that of being a person at a small or large organization. There are different challenges and I feel that I have become a stronger and better person because of it. The success, or failure, is entirely in my hands. This alone has caused a lot of stress but overall in a positive way.

We started with a vision of being a differentiator in the web design/development. We know we’ve achieved this dream and focus as the companies we continue to work with have all seen improvements in their online experiences and improved business processes.

Over these years there have been many changes. Both hard because we have ventured off of our core focus while others have been truly easy speaking relatively. Our entire process has improved which has made us a more competitive development company within the landscape.

Venturing off course

We have ventured off our core focus to test the waters for new business services to offer. The thoughts for those deviations was wise at the moments before that decision. We quickly realized that although we could handle the new services it lead us away from our core focus of improving business processes, web design/development and our focus on helping businesses use digital marketing.

The best part of JM2 Webdesigners has always been our foundational roots on using agile methodologies in everything that we do (fast changing business practices). We were able to quickly realize that this change didn’t improve our business processes and rather hindered them. We were able to get back on-track in a short period of time.

Correcting your course

Once a course has been chosen and you’ve started in a specific direction you always need to make certain that when changing you don’t leave those that you worked with out in the cold. To solve this we started looking, communicating and establishing relationships with other businesses in IT, Graphic Design, and print and video marketing.

With these new relationships we were able to not only make some truly smart partnerships but utilize the expertise that they that they have and tie it in with our expertise. These relationships have spawned much more fruit (customers and new opportunities) than what we would have had if we did the tasks ourselves.

We now have more exciting development work where we can focus on our core values and help solve and improve upon the problems businesses are facing today. These course corrections have made us a stronger organization in helping businesses in improving their daily processes.

By using these relationships we gained access to local community industry leaders to help solve complex problems.

Conclusion

By sticking to what we originally set out to do we are able to solve business problems using software technology. Every business problem can be improved upon when discussed and evaluated in a positive manner.

At JM2 Webdesigners everything we do we believe in challenging the status quo. We believe in thinking differently from others in our field. We make our websites beautifully designed, simple to use and user friendly. We just happen to make great websites, improve business processes and efficient online experiences.
